Heart Disease and Shin Bones

I was diagnosed with heart disease 2 years ago and received 2 stents, angioplasty etc. A few months ago, I noticed that there was an indentation on my shin after bumping it on a counter. I didn't think anything of it until last weekend when it happened again. Examining myself, I noticed that I could press and cause pitting in the actual bone itself. Is this edema or a bone issue?  My thought was that edema only has to do with the soft tissue in front of the bone. The indentation goes away after a minute or so. Before and since my intervention, I continue to have infrequent bouts of PACs/PVCs and an occasional 1 second bout of what I feel is VTACH. I have caught this on a holter before. I was checked about a year ago. Nuc stress showed that I still had a minor blockage of RCA which we knew about. Echo was good with normal EF etc..However, minor left ventricular hypertrophy was noted. I was told that wasn't of any consequence at that time. I go to a major well known University. I'm concerned that the shin problems are somehow a tag for early signs of heart failure.

What you describe certainly could be consistent with leg swelling. Swelling in the legs can have a variety of different causes (heart failure only being one of them). I would advise you to make an appointment with your cardiologist so that he can look at your legs, examine you and decide what course of action should be taken.

Thank you for the response. I have an appointment with my Cardiologist this Tuesday. I'm now certain that I have pitting edema in my shins. I am hoping that I don't have any form of diastolic dysfunction at this point. If I could just get these 30lbs off and lower my sodium intake, my life would probably be less complicated!
