Heart Disease and its effect on family

My parents had daughters and me as a son. All three daughters died due to heart condition at a very young age. All 3 of them had a hole in their heart which resulted in no growth of their body parts.
My fiance had one brother who also died due to same condition but at an age of 14.
Will this effect our babies in future genetically, if we marry each other ?

yes it is possible. It is possible for this to occur in ALL situations. Even if both parents don't have the faulty gene, the child could still be born with a hole in the heart. You do know it is a simple procedure to close a hole in the heart? they rarely have to even open the chest these days, it is done using a catheter and a closure device.

Thanks for your information ED. I am from India and no good surgical treatment was available till 90's.
My question is that if we get married to each other than is their a possibility that our baby will also have a same situation. Getting it treated at a good hospital is secondary but is their any chance of this happening in the first place ?

holes in hearts are normally spotted early on, but I have no idea what country you are in? Surgery, even non invasive can usually be performed to rectify the situation. Again it depends where you live and what facilities you have. Is there a good heart hospital near you? If so I would say marriage and having a family is fine.
