Heart Disease testing

Would a clear angiogram 2.5 years ago and a clear nuclear stress test last year indicate good heart health. I sometimes get bad shoulder pain an I worry it is related to my heart.

No one can say for sure, but it certainly is a good starting point. According to the Journal of Nuclear Medicine;

"patients with unequivocally normal stress myocardial perfusion SPECT studies have a <1% rate of having a future cardiac event (death or acute myocardial infarction)"

That on the back of a clean angiogram would make me feel pretty good, however if you are experiencing symptoms, you may want to run it past your cardiologist. I was told by mine that a clear Nuclear Stress Test is good for at least 7 years and only needs to be repeated upon a change in symptoms. CAD is a dynamic process that can progress at diferent rates in different individuals so there is no easy answer. I would get checked out if I started up with new symptoms just to be safe.

Hope this helps,

Jon
