Heart Health in General

by DrDoright, Mar 09, 2007 12:00AM
I have been trying to post my question on the doctor patient forum but it always appears to be full. So I wondered if any of you out there could help. My doctor has advised me to use a couple of products to keep my heart healthy, I have a strong family history of major heart related problems, non of which I have fortunatley suffered with. He has recommended Core Complex and Tri Shield which will keep my blood vessels healthy and my cholesterol under control. I have contacted the place he advised me to go to and the guy there was vey informative and helpful (www.myhealthabcmall.com) he phoned me up and explained how they worked and sent me some information on the internet too. It all looks very good and is endorsed by the Nobel prize winner in this field. I want to know about other people who are using these products and what results or difference they have made. I am going to start on the products this weekend and wondered how you can tell when they are working effectively and what I should expect?

I can't comment on your doctor's recommendations.  However I think it is important to recognized some practices such as recommending a vitamim/etc., then handing you the info how to order it or where to get it.

Some doctors try to push some products themselves, where they get some $$$ from doing so.  This becomes an ethics issue.

I have seen many cardiologists for my heart problems, and none of them except 1 pushed an off-prescription vitamin (actually handing me an order form).

All I can say is do your research.  With heart disease, I'd rather have the proven factors of statins, ACE, ARBs, calcium channel blockers, etc. under my belt.
