Can a heart Murmer be felt in the legs aswell as the chest? Cause I have a
slight vibrating sensation in the chest aswell as the legs.  Also can a problem
in the heart cause a weakness in the left arm and leg and cause blurryness
in  the left eye, it seems to get worse when I lay down and try to get to sleep
it feels as if the muscles in the arm are floppy. I'm 20 male.

Dear Roberto:
Heart murmurs are abnormal sounds caused by valves in the heart; the doctor hears these when he listens to your chest with a stethoscope.  The murmur itself is due to turbulent blood flow, usually around a narrow, leaky or damaged valve.  As it is a sound, a murmur is generally not felt by the patient, either in the chest or elsewhere in the body.  Rarely, the condition that causes the murmur can cause abnormal sensations in the chest or other parts of the body; this is only in cases of very severe valve disease.
A heart murmur should not cause weakness or blurred vision.  Sometimes infections or blood clots on valves can cause these symptoms by causing a stoke or mini-stroke.
I am very concerned by your question.  If you are experiencing any of the symptoms you are writing about, I would urge you to seek medical attention immediately.
Information provided here is of a general nature.  Specific diagnoses and treatments can only be made by your doctor.  If you would like to be seen at the Cleveland Clinic, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE for an appointment with a cardiologist at Desk F15.
