Heart Palpitation

Last Tuesday (April 27), I got real sick with a flu like virus.  I spent the day in bed feeling like I would throw up at any time.  I never did.  Around 4:00 that afternoon, I started to feel better.  However, ever since then, I've had heart palpitations.  When I'm busy or working I usually don't notice them but when I'm sitting around or not busy, that's when I feel them.  It occurs frequently, possibly as much as once every five minutes or less.  It's only one palpitation and it feels like a hiccup.  Could that be a result of my being sick or something else?  Thank you for your reply.
