Heart Racing - three years post bypass surgery

My father-in-law had bypass surgery (5) three years ago. He is 57 now.  His heart has been racing for several months and has general tiredness.  This month a stress test was done but stopped when the heart rate was up to 140 and the echo did not show a problem. The doctor indicated that he wanted to schedule an angiogram but has not called with a date yet (over a week has passed). He has not called about it since he does not want to find out bad news - that another bypass is needed.

Any thoughts/comments would be appreciated.

First, be sure to follow-up with the doctor's office - These things sometimes fall through the cracks.  Second, he should be checked for other causes of fast heart rate like high thyroid, anemia, etc.  His cardiologist or internist can do this.  best wishes and feel free to write back with additional questions.
