Heart Rate Monitor while on Beta Blockers - Do they help?

I take beta blockers for MVP and have for years. As you know, they keep your heart beat low even while exercising. I've ordered a Polor heart rate monitor and now wonder if it will help me in my exercises to gain my fitness goals.

Does anyone know if it will help and, if so, how should I set it for my unique circumstances?

Thank you.

You should ask you Dr how much it changes your heart rate.  Then ask what your new target heart rate should be.  It may take a stress test to determine this, but I'm not sure.  One thing I am sure of is that the heart rate monitor will be helpful.  They are very good at helping you set your limits or reach your goals.  Again be sure to check with your Dr first.

When I was taking beta blockers, my Polor monitor didn't really help b/c the BB kept my rate from going much past 109.

Same thing happened during a stress test -- I worked harder and harder and the HR stayed down.  They said that meant the BB was doing its job.
