Heart Spasm

I was told I  have Hypertrophic idopathic restrictive cardiomyopthy in 1989, I was given Bata Blockers, Calcium channel blockers and diuretics over the first two years. Then I took only diuretics after that and they were increased as needed.  I have also been told after testing that I have small airway disease.
I know that in 89 I did not have a typical heart attack but it was after running to a neighbors house during the 89 Calif. earthquake that I was taken to the hospital with servere chest pains pressure and shortness of breath. After a treadmill test which I passed out from I was sent to another hospital and underwent many tests. And was told I had the cardiomopthy I listed above.  I have not been totaly convinced. I went to UC Medical Center  in San Franciso and they were unsure and talked about other things like syndrom (syndrome) x, due to the weight, but wanted to run more tests. They would not say I did not have it.  I declined the tests, went home and took up my life..

My key symptom has been a pressure like a muscle apasm in my heart it feels like a band is tightening and then it hurts and becomes hard to breath. This happens if I exhert myself even over simple tasks. If I am working at the computer for two to three hours I get short of breath and the ache starts. It can happen when cleaning house. Walking through the store and general things, I do not move fast but I do move and keep house, I Work with substance abuse groups and work on our acre in the garden.  I do have some water retention some times by noon or at the end of the day. Mild to extream again based on my activities.
Over the passed  year the sypmtom has encreased and is now almost daily . When it happens. I sit or lay down and practice being quiet and meditate.  My swelling is always down in the morning. I do not take diuretics and have not for the past six years. I had 6 months of gout in most of my joints. And I weaned off all meds except one which I use only if an attack may be starting.
I found out over the years that if I move slow and do not push I can get things done. I like to work in my garden. I am the grandmother of 27 and have a good marrage of forty seven years.
I have fought obesity for most of my life. My average weight while giving birth to and raising six children was 185 lbs My highest weight was was after I was told about the Cardiomyopathy went to 369.  I lost 144 lb's over the past three years by attending Overeaters Anonymous 90 days a twelve step program with a food plan . I still attend and work the program.  I want to know if it is possible for me to be having these spasms. Each year I normally have an Echo and get a pat on the head.  I have tried not to think about this, but it is getting to where it grabs my attention. I have no valve involvement. I have put off seeing my doctor.  I like the river denile. I am just curious and wonder if this is just old age. I do have a chronic cough and rattle in my chest.
