Heart Tests

In the past 3 months I have had a abnormal EKG/ a abnormal treadmill stress test/ a normal ultrasound test and a normal nuclear stress test. The Dr. now wants me to have a heart catherization  ?

Yes it does get confusing doesn't it. I think I agree with your Cardiologist.
The ECG has shown abnormalities. A treadmill stress test shows abnormalities.
Now to the Ultrasound. A normal Ultrasound rarely shows any problems with stable angina, and is next to useless. The best thing would have been a stress ultrasound which would have probably shown signs of ischemia. The nuclear scan is the same really is a way. The first scan is with your heart at rest, and the second is with it stressed. BUT, they load you with GTN for the stress part, fully dilating the coronary arteries. I don't see the point in this because it shows what your supply COULD be like, but not what it IS like in every day life.
It does look like you probably have stable angina and an angiogram would make it a certainty one way or the other. If they do find a blockage which can be stented, they could do it there and then. If you have several blockages of a high percentage, they will probably recommend bypass.
So, on exertion, do you get angina symptoms? chest pains/shortness of breath/throat discomfort/jaw ache etc?
