Heart defibrillators

My boyfriend went back for his check up to day to his cardiologist. They said everything looked ok but told us that if he ends up in the hospital 1 to 2 more times they are going to have to put a defibrillator on his heart. I was just wondering if anyone has had this done or knows anyone that has. I am just wondering what to expect and see if there is any information that anyone knows about this. I am constantly doing research but I still like to hear what other people about this. This caught us completely off guard today because he has had absolutely no problem with arrhythmia since this all started the end of October. Any help would be wonderful.

I have had four Implantable defibrillators in the past seventeen years.  I have mine do to V-Tach , V-Fib  high risk for sudden cardiac death.

it hurts, has tramatizes me when gone off, broke my foot from fallen afterwards deters me from doing the things i love the most, on and on. I been told 99.9% inapropriate shocks. Otherwise i be grateful.
