Hi, the commonest cause for palpitation is anxiety. After a meal the blood is diverted to the stomach to help with digestion. That is the reason we feel yawn and feel sleepy after meal. The brain is not getting enough blood supply and so decreased oxygen leading to sleepiness. So, if you take a shower soon after a meal further blood pooling will occur to the skin and the blood supply to the brain is further decreased. So, avoid a shower, strenuous exercise and swimming after a meal and see if it helps with your symptoms. Regards.
