Heart palps or something else?

Hello,

I just want to start this off by saying I have anxiety a bit lol. Bit of a precursor there. I have had these... Idk what to call them, thrills I guess since I was 17 or so. I'm 27 now. I can put my hand on my chest and physically feel what feels like an extra beat. Didn't happen often, few times a year but this year I've had then often, almost daily. I bought a stethoscope and my heart sounds normal until I get that thrill feeling.. Then I listen and can hear it has a third beat. Its immediately after the second beat. Only happens fla few times, makes me feel like I need to cough and then goes away.

I work out, I run quite a bit. I do a mile every other day and I do it in 10 minutes or so. My blood pressure is a little high but I am in school and stressed often. 145/85 is the average. When I work out I never ever have these, only when laying down or relaxed.

Is this cause for concern?

PVCs are typically harmless if that's what it is. But you definitely want to be seen for it to make sure that is what you're experiencing.

Being young and healthy just shifts the odds in your favor, it's not a guarantee you don't have heart problems.

The stress and lying down issue is reminiscent of acid reflux, which can also cause palpitations so it "could" be as simple as that. Ask your Dr. about it.
