cannibus does not cause cancer, infact the oil that is made from it is curing cancer, where did you get your information on this, lol you sound like so many that are against a God given plant that is healing not only cancer but many other dieases do your research and google Run from the Cure a Rick Simpson story.
Cool! I want his doctor! No, but seriously, MJ is not good for the heart because it increases your heart rate, blood pressure, and cardiac output. I used to smoke ALL THE TIME, and then I quit, only to start smoking again...this is when my arrhythmia started. I've had it for a year now and it's truly a thorn in my side. I wish weed didn't affect the heart. If this was the case, I would still be a pothead (sad but true). I am an addict, and I always will be.
The other name for the bp med that I take is hydralazine, if you haven't taken it you should ask your doctor about it.
No, I live in Michigan, but I do know that in California they have stores that sell MJ in all sorts of forms, like suckers, popsicles, brownies, drinks, you name it. I can definitely belive it.
Do you live in California? If so, it doesn't surprise me what this doctor said. We just came back from a visit to Northern CA and there are doctors who prescribe marijuana for just anything we were told without checking it out all a person has to do is say they have back pain, knee pain, any kind of pain and they get the "medical marijuana" most doctors smoke it themselves.
There are signs all over the place to vote for a certain presidential candidate because he promises to legalize drugs for everybody we were told.
I too have tried to look on the internet for more onfo as my brother had tried to get me to use the MJ for my clusters, but I am too afraid due to my heart probs, however I do know of another person in my family that is Bipolar and has talked to her Dr. about using it and her Dr. seems to have no probs with the idea only feels she needs to try and get a med. permit for it as not to get in trouble. As far as eating it, my brother did try that, and he could not stand the taste, made him gag, so he smoked it in a room by himself, it had also helped him to put on some much needed weight, so it had served more than one purpose in helping him with his health. And the MJ 'IS NOT' what caused his heart issue, this just runs in our family. He is following his Cardiologist request and not using it at present.
Interesting Point ! I can totaly understand that happening as Smoking anything can harm the body!
I have to point out, I have good friend who is now in his late 70s and is taking MJ daily Medical type
all legal eagle .. he Eats it mixing it in foods and drinks. as He wont smoke ! he says it tastes like ****! but works in stopping his headaches and pains ,as well has lowered his blood pressure down
and relaxed him totaly. did you ever hear of that way to take MJ before ?
Im now wondering if infact he could have a bulid up of MJ in his heart cells as well ? makes for Interesting reviews ! im still serching the internet and talking with people who take the med MJ..
for diffrent things wrong. have to say, not to meny out there ! on this stuff..
I have a brother that was on the medical MJ for Migraines, later diagnosed with a heart prob, BAM he was taken off the MJ immedialy! Sent through a drug rehab, guess the MJ stores up in the certain cells in the heart, he told me after seeing some of the pictures of the heart and smoking MJ, it really scared him.
Reply back to Cans.. as yet I havent taken that drug (Apresoline) is it listed under anyother names?
as some b.p meds have a few names listed. Your very -very lucky not have any side effects. I guess im one of the few that get side effects from any medication I take. if its chemical made..
dont know why but I do ? Iv had a few Doctors give up on me -and refuse to keep trying to find a medication that works and has less effects! but then again I was with a hmo system, and the Doctors are limited to what they can perscribe. its odd when there are hundreds of medications for h.b.p. out there ! and hmo's only offer a few (less than 4 or 5 brands) if even that !
Its called wishfull thinking on my part for b.p med ,that has no side effects lol..
I think it can be done , but if you think out of the box , side effects can give doctors more to deal with
so maybe its more money for the pharm companys $$$ as the doctors throw more meds at us to stop the side effects .
well im weaning off toprol xl right now.. being my doctors refuse to take me off it.. its got something to do with the hmo system , and first doctor who perscribed the drug.. I was told to go back to him
to get off it. well its been a few years, and the old guy retired a few months ago .. so im behind a 8
ball.
oh well thats another story.. wont go into it ..
anyways.. nope dont think I tryed it..
I take bp meds and I don't have any side effects from it, but I don't think that ther is such a thing as no side effects in medication, and everyone's body adjusts to medications differently. I take something called apresoline, have you tried it.
thanks for the web site info.. will check into asap.
good info you left ! I agree on most subjects , however I really think some of these reserch deals
and reviewing of medications.. by pharm companys or by u.s goverment is slightly bent agisnst the
marijuana.. as we all know this drug is Illegal to use ,without a Doctors permission and card. or whatever it takes ? to make it for leagal useage.
what I would like to see, is a drug company come out with a b.p medication ,that has no side effects at all. wouldnt that be something !!
thanks again momto3 good info ..
Boogernose, you brought up some good points. They are well taken and do make sense. Not in a medical way, but in that patients may "feel" better from the effects of MJ. I can only begin to understand how frustrating it must be to be placed on medication after medication in search of the "right" one. I suppose many of us would look to alternatives if traditional medication was ineffective.
While I believe that MJ COULD help to calm nerves, suppress anxiety, and perhaps even influence pain management, extensive research on the subject has proven the risks far outweigh any potential benefits. It would seem that patients who turn to MJ as a form of treatment would fit into one of two categories; those patients who are desperate and have not found help with traditional medicine, and those looking for an excuse to continue using. However, until such time when MJ is deemed appropriate medical therapy, it is best for us to stick with tried and true, legally advisable therapies. While patients may "feel" better, they are more than likely experiencing the side effects of MJ on the nervous system, as opposed to any therapeutic benefit for the underlying condition. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out for future generations. I can't really say where I might turn if I found myself desperately searching for non-traditional medical treatment. Hopefully, I will not be faced with that dilemma.
Here is an informative website on the subject:
http://www.usdoj.gov/dea/ongoing/marijuana.html
I have a diffrent view on this subject here: Im no Doctor and im not trying to be - im just a normal joe
with h.b.p. / I have talked to a few people who were put on pharm type marijuana for b.p problems and other calming problems by a M.D. Doctor ! Im not sure if the MaryJane is smoked or eatten ?
or how its taken , but the fact remains that these people are much more happy, and b.p has gone down, and they are relaxed more and at ease ! I can understand the concern about cancer risks and
smoking it ( I dont smoke anything myself ) however from what iv read, and talked about to Doctors and people who have m.d perscriptions for it.. it seems to work fine and has no side effects.
I have even gone so far as to ask my Doctor , since iv now tryed over 14 diffrent brands of b.p meds
and had adverse side effects happen with all.. some so bad I was taken to the ER. ..to please let me try the Mary Jane percription type. for b.p problems.. the ansure was No ! Now you can call him smart or dumb ? or carefull .. but when a person comes to the end of the rope ,with medications that really cause more harm than good, and hurt the body. we must then find another way to go..
M.J might be the ansure ? as it seems to work on most people who try it under medical terms.
legal.
I think most Doctors today tend to lean to the chemical side of medications.. abit too much.
but again what do I know.. im just a everday joe..
cans, take care and hope they find something that works for cuz ..
I can't imagine a medical doctor informing a patient that marijuana is "good" for the heart!! If what your cousin says is true, perhaps you should suggest he see another doctor. It's seems quite likely that your cousin is not being truthful, OR, that his MD is not practicing good medicine.
If the doctor really said that he was very unprofessional and his license should be taken away, if it would be up to me, that isn’t just a small thing to say. If your cousin just made this up to support his habit, then …he is a liar…or it was some misunderstanding.
Marihuana is NOT good for a heart!
One of the many Short-Term Effects of Marijuana is: increased heart rate (faster pulse)
One of the many Long-Term Effect of Marijuana is : increased risk of
chronic heart and lung diseases, including cancer.
