Heart transplants

If a person is in need of a transplant what is the normal waiting period, do they ever give one to person with arrythmia problems that are not correctable by normal procedures. Where is one of the best places to get evalulated in the S.W. U.S. Can you get a transplant on Medicare? When they put in the new heart how do they connect the main nerves to the heart or are you on a pacemaker and if so how high do they usually have to set it, 80 beats a min.100]. Hope I'm not getting to technical for you all on this site. Thanks.

Have you checked out the transplant community? They may have more answers or information on transplants.  If you post on both sites, you may get more information.
