Heart valve questions

by Randy01, Sep 05, 2009 06:16PM
I am a 28 year old male that discovered during an echocardiogram, a few things may be amiss. I had the echocardiogram to rule out endocarditis, however, it was discovered that my tircuspid and mitral valves have mild regurgitation. Also, it was indicated that the mitral valve showed a slight thickening. I have never had any heart problems and do not have a heart murmer. What signifigance do these findings have ?
Thank you,

Randy

Mild regurgitation is not serious and you will be surprised just how many people have this. They will probably ask you to have an echo scan every couple of years to see how
things are going. You probably don't even realise there is a problem. I have to ask though, what was the reason for the echo in the first place?

To rule out endocarditis. Thanks
