Heart works at 70%

by larinda57, Feb 19, 2009 03:08PM
I recently had a nuclear stress done. I did the treadmill and survived it. Anyway, when I asked my primary care doctor for the results. She left the room to see it on her computer. She returned saying my heart works at 70% and that is good. That does not sound good to me. What does she mean when she says that?

Heart efficiency is measured by a percentage, called the EF (Ejection Fraction).  Between 50% and 65% is considered average, so it appears your heart is working quite efficiently.
