Heavy Arms

I am in my early sixties, 5'6" tall, & 175lb, light boned.  I do not smoke.
In the last month I have had 4 occurances of a feeling that my arms are heavy.
There is no pain.  The feeling occurs very quickly and passes within 2 to 5 minutes.
I have never had these feeling before.

Dear Mike,
I would be more suspicious of a neurological problem than a cardiac problem.  I would follow-up with your Internist and have him check to make sure you are not having transient loss of blood flow to your brain.
I hope you find this information useful.  Information provided in the heart forum is for general purposes only.  Only your physician can provide specific diagnoses and therapies.  Please feel free to write back with additional questions.
If you would like to make an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Heart Center, please call 1-800-CCF-CARE or inquire online by using the Heart Center website at www.ccf.org/heartcenter.  The Heart Center website contains a directory of the cardiology staff that can be used to select the physician best suited to address your cardiac problem.
