Help for Dad diagnosed with having Heart Seizures??

by Elanracy, Feb 07, 2003 12:00AM
My Father who has a history of CHF, acute renal failure, etc... was told yesterday that he had multiple heat seizures..
During a stress test, this happened and they explained it to him that his heart would stop for 3-5 seconds and then restart again..
I have never heart of anything being called heart seizures... can someone explain???

Elanracy,

Thank you for the question.

I too have never heard of "heart seizures".  It sounds as if your father had an arrhythmia -- meaning that his heart was either going too slow or too fast.  Either option is possible with his history of CHF.  The therapy for the disturbance would depend on what actually happened.

If you can post more information, I'll try to help then.
