Help with PAC's!

  : I have recently been diagnosed as having premature atrial contractions.  I have been having them very steadily for the past week.  My cardiologist put me on Atenolol, but it is not instantly working.  Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the full benefit of beta blockers?  PAC's are very uncomfortable, and are actually painful at times.  Is there anyone else that experiences pain with PAC's?  Thanks.

Many patients report that anxiety or stress make them worse. Beta blockers almost always help to some degree.
