Help!!!

Okay here goes.I am having some chest back and shoulder pain all on the left side.I have been to  the dr. I have had 2 ekgs done they say my heart is fine, also bloood work and a few urine tests..Last time I went the dr. told me they thought it was a problem with my rotator cuff.the front pain is probably right around the upper part of my sternum and it is in my upper back same place just in the back.My left arm also aches and my shoulder. It kind of feels like there is something rubbing together whenever I lift my arm sometimes I don't even want to lift my arm it hurts so bad my chest also pops.Has anybody ever had a Brachial Plexus injury and what where the syptoms (symptoms) (symptoms)? What about a Suprascapular Nerve pinch?Any rotator cuff injurys that also caused chest pain?I really feel like it is a physical problem and not a mental one.Any helpful ideas on what it could be.

This is a heart disease forum, so I can only really give an opinion based on that. With regards to nerves and muscles, not sure what to suggest, sorry. Your EKG's were clear and blood tests have shown no elevated troponin, so it would appear your heart is fine. When there is pain associated with the heart, your troponin levels will elevate as a result, which is a very accurate and clear marker.

Sorry to jump into someone else thread...but ed34 you talk about the troptine level...is it the same as C-protein? Had blood tests for heart related problems back in july and the C-protein level was low...is it a good indicator for a heart problem or I should have other blood tests done? Had my cholesterol level and many other things tests in my blood...nothing to explain the chest pain and left arm and left hand pain as well as the all the time heart pounding...

Thanks, Vincent

No, troponin I and troponin T are very reliable blood markers which can elevate in the situation of both stable/unstable angina, heart attack, vasospasm etc. Have you had your thyroid gland function tested for your elevated heart rate?

thanks for your answer. so I would ask for those tests...

Yes, thyroid is fine, tsh,t3 and t3free and t4 and t4 free as well....

Should ask for a nuclear test as well but dont think I will be able to run on the thread mill and having it with the drug who increase the heart rate ,dobutimine I think, will bring dangerous supraventricular tachycardia and panic attack...

No, I don't think you would require a nuclear scan, they are next to useless without other tests first. I think your best test would be an echocardiogram.

Hi again, I had an echocardiogram in december...valves are normal...nothing wrong in the structural of my heart...

I think I mayave clogged arteries from smoking cigarettes for almost 24 years and had also morbid obesity until 26 yo when I had my gastric by pass surgery. Also the lack of exercise an poor diet choices...

My symptoms are a lot into left side pain especially my left arm who feel numb and tingling on and off and bad pain in my left hand upper the wrist radiating into the fingers, they hurt...chest pain open on and off everyday at rest and also have dizziness, not normal blood pressure reading ( not the usual ones I had beforeL always on the low side and like I wrote before the chronic pounding heart beat with tachycardia at rest and worse with minimal physical activity like climbing some stairs or just take a shower or even get up from a sit.position to a standing one...

the gold standard for checking arteries is an angiogram.
