therapy for a year, she was hospitalized two months ago and again
last week with leg

because she was so terribly weak and she had edema in both legs and a
potassium level of 2 (
Lasix and potassium had been prescribed over the
phone by her doctor to reduce swelling that he said was fluid retention).
With each hospitalization, a Heparin drip is set up to take care of the
clot. As the Heparin enters her system she becomes progressively paranoid,
anxious, and extremely frightened and "awfulizes," taking a small piece of
information and creating a bizarre fantasy around it. I'm unable to find any
information about the psychological impact of Heparin, except possible
amnesia which doesn't seem to be the problem. Could her body be
losing vitamins or minerals from the various medications that could cause
significant mental changes. Can you help us?
