High BP and HR/ chest pain

I've had high a BP and HR for a while now and am finally seeing a cardiologist on the 29th but am wondering if anyone can help me. Just a bit ago I took it and BP was 151/108, HR was 103. My BP is usually between 130-140/90-100 and my HR is normally between 90 and 130, sometimes lower or higher on both. Is there anything I can do to lower this until I see the doc? I'm having moderate to severe chest pain right now which I think is related to my BP.

A bit of a history: I'm 18 and I have suffered from joint pain since I was 10. It started in my knees and about 4 years ago started spreading, within about 2 years it was in almost every joint and last year affected my jaw (my jaw is not a huge problem just some occasional aches, rarely is it really bad). I am in severe pain daily with little to no relief and also have muscle spasms mostly in my chest and back. I have been on a range of diff. meds on the low end of the narcotics scale and unfortunately I probably won't get something stronger until I am dignosed with something.

I would greatly appreciate any info or advice anyone can offer
Lily

---I told my mom when she got up. She had me lay down and about 45 mins. later I checked it and it was 126/94. 151/108 is the highest it has ever gone, and my HR highest is around 150.---

I've seen a few different rheumatologists who either told me they didn't know what I have and couldn't help me or, in the case of one, recommended I see a psychologist, I haven't seen any since. I also went to see a kidney doc about a week ago for protein in my urine and creatinine in my blood. He is running a lot of blood tests and did an u/s of my kidneys, I'll find out the results when I go back in about 3 weeks. A 1/4 of one of my kidneys is also not functioning due to a really bad kidney infection when I was 5.

The kidney doc is the one who referred me to the cardiologist and another rheumatologist, he says both are really good.

I am currently only taking amitriptyline to help me sleep at night, though it's not working. But I've also been on tylenol, ibuprofen, aleve, neurontin, vicodin, darvocet, percocet hydrocodone and tramadol none of which take the pain away anymore. It has progressively gotten worse.

I eat a lot healthier than I used to and have cut sodas down to maybe 1-2 a week from the normal 4-6 a day. I will limit the sugar and salt but I don't think there is a way to completely take them out.

Thanks so much for the advice
Lily

You don't say what types of doctors you have seen, or what tests have been ran, this info would help.  Your BP and HR are way too high!  If your kidneys aren't functioning at 100% this can raise your BP.  But I think this and your joint pain etc, are all connected.  Have you had a thorough blood workup done?  Don't mess around with this, your HR is seriously high, everything is for your age.  I'm not trying to scare you, but this needs to be taken very seriously.  Until you see the doctor, avoid all caffeine and salt, limit sugars as well.
