High Blood Pressure/Low Potassium

High Blood Pressure/Low Potassium

I'm a 26 yr female with no history of high blood pressure. Over the last seven years, I have had consistently low/normal BP.   During a summer internship, I had a wellness examination. I had no health complaints/symptoms. My BP was running 175/120. Blood work showed that I have low potassium.  Over the next week, my BP remained consistently high. I have done urinalysis to confirm kidney function is high and am currently seeing a nephrologist.  I am now on Toprol (50mg) Lisinopril (10mg) and Klor-con (potassium supplement).  I just underwent an MRI to scan for an adrenal gland tumor and to check the veins.  Is aldosternism the only diagnosis that makes sense? I appreciate that HBP is genetic, but why the low potassium?

I should also say that I am of normal weight--with little fluctuation over 7 years--regular exercise, a healthy diet--no fast food, everything low sodium. Neither my diet or my exercise habits changed prior to the high reading.
