QUOTE: yes anything containing caffeine will increase blood pressure.

I drink coffee but it soesn't effect my b/p. I also believed coffee caused high b/p but there is a reconsideration!'

Trail study: Coffee consumption has long been a suspected cause of hypertension, but the available evidence from various study designs is inconsistent. Many randomized experiments have been performed but with different coffee or caffeine intakes. In a recent meta-analysis of 16 trials with both coffee and caffeine interventions, we showed that for coffee trials with a median intake of 725 mL coffee/d there was a rise of 1.2 mm Hg in systolic blood pressure and of 0.5 mm Hg in diastolic blood pressure (1). These trials were designed for a short follow-up duration.

Most evidence on the relation between coffee and blood pressure stems from cross-sectional studies. This evidence, however, is inconsistent. Some of these studies showed a positive relation (2), no relation (3), or even an inverse relation (4). Such cross-sectional studies have important limitations with respect to causal inference.

I think sometimes we never stop to think that anything that speeds up our systems...ie: caffeine, energy drinks, ginsing type of products also speed up whatever is going on in our bodies.  That would also be pulse, blood pressure, diseases, etc.  That is why i think that oncologists or cancer docs tell people to eliminate anything that stimulates the system for just that reason as to not speed up what is happening within our bodies...makes sense to me........just a thought

yes anything containing caffeine will increase blood pressure. If you enjoy coffee and drink a lot of it, then cutting down to a couple of cups a day might be fine, it's really try and see.
