My liver ALT & AST enzymes range from high normal to about 20 points High. (keeps changing)

I can't do anything else to lower my cholesterol. Am on an anti-inflammatory diet. No fats, red meat, salt, artificial colors or perseratives and any foods that may contribute at all to giving my high cholesterol. I take fish oil. I'm very thin and can't loose anymore weight. I'm not active at all due to pain in my bones and muscles.
My cardiologist wants me to go back onto 20mg. of Lipitor. THIS IS WHERE I NEED HELP! I read that people with muscle disorders and parathesia or any neuro problem shouldn't take a statin. I have both problems. I also probably have rheumatoid arthritis. ALSO.. I've been on Lipitor previously and was told by another doctor to take a break from it. When I did, that's when my cholesterol came back up. BUT...if I go back onto a statin, it's going to make my liver enzymes increase more. I already have a problem with the enzymes. So what do I do? I'm in a catch22. Do I further take a chance with my liver or do I ignore my cholesterol problem?
Your good cholesterol HDL at 73. That is great. HDL 60 or above decreases your risk of heart disease. LDL is slightly high. For most people, it is hard to get it below 100. Ask your doctor which part of your cholesterol he is concerned about. You may want to ask your doctor at Zetia which works in the intestines.
