High EF

My EF on stress test was 90 but on echocardiogram about 6 months ago it was 65.  I have a history of pulmonary hypertension, diastolic dysfunction and some valve damage to 3 valves.  Which EF is more accurate?

The EF of 65% is more accurate.  I have never given an EF of 90%.  A normal EF is > 55% and there is a lot of subject variability between echo's so we usually say +/- 5%.  Sometimes a patient can have a hyperdynamic (beating very forcefully), small heart can sometimes have an EF of up to 70-75% but never 90%.

Hope this helps.
