I am a 33 year old runner. I have run several marathons and consider myself in decent shape. When I run my heart rate after 3 miles goes to 180-185 and stays. When I do speedwork and hills it goes to 195. I have been through 4 heart rate monitors to assure the accuracy. I also consulted with a cardiologist and she said it was nothing to worry about. Does this happen to anyone else. My resting heart rate is 50.
I am not a great runner, but I run enough because I have to pass my physical tests for the army, so i'm in pretty decent shape...and even when i run just one mile my heart rate gets to 250. i'm seeing a cardiologist about it but as of yet there is nothing wrong and it has never really hurt me other than being painfulPainful menstrual periods sometimes...If it stays under 220 I wouldn't worry about it all, that was the number that my cardiologist gave me as been the line between normalNormal saline flush and worrisome.
Don't worry about it.
