My daughter has been having tests as she has very high blood pressure and a very low pulse rate.
She has to undergo more tests with a specialist. She is worried about having a stroke or heart attack. Some of symptons have been brusing on her body, tingleing in her feet and hands. Also feels blood vessels bursting in her feet and hands. Also she has severe fatique. I have an underactive Thyroid and so did her Grandmother. My brother is waiting for a new heart valve.
I am very concerned about her well being. The lowest pulse rate recorded for her has been 40 her blood pressure I don't know. Her age is 52
It would be helpful to have a few more details..How elevated is her blood pressure? Was it measured at home? or in a doctor's office? How many different measurements were taken?
Elevated blood pressure, or hypertension, can be caused by many factors. The first step in addressing the hypertension, is obtaining an accurate diagnosis by making an appointment with here doctor.
If your daughter does have high blood pressure, lifestyle changes such as weight loss and a low salt diet can help.
A low pulse could be normal in conditioned athletes, or in certain individuals. A low pulse is generally not a problem unless it causes symptoms of fatigue, lightheadedness, dizzy spells, or episodes of passing out.
