High blood pressure and tooth pain

by msgulch, Feb 06, 2007 12:00AM
I am a 47 year old woman, 5'7", 125 pounds, I walk regularly and do yoga.  FOr 12 months I have been bothered by pain between the shoulder blades(I do have scoliosis) and aching teeth.  Have tried to find a dr to help...yesterday I tried a new guy who measured my bp at 150/84!  He did an EKG which he said was OK.  Immediately offered medication without any history, blood work etc taken.  I have been worried that there is a heart issue, but drs seem to disagree, or to not pay attention to me.  THis BP thing is troublesome, as is the aching teeth. Occasionally I will feel a "pinching" pain on the left side of my chest. What do you think?

msgulch,

thanks for the post.

I think you should discuss your concerns with your physician. He/she may have put more thought into your diagnosis and treatment than you think.

If your concerns and worries are not alleviated then perhaps a switch of phsyicians  to someone you are more comfortable with might help.

I generally check blood pressure over 2 visits and use ambulatory readings as well as some simple blood test before initiating treatment. The may have been done recently or are being planned by your physician in the near future.

Good luck
