I have a queation about ejection fraction of the left ventricleUltrasound, normal fetus - ventricles of brain Ultrasound, normal fetus- ventricles of brain. My stress test results showed that mine was 82.4%. I have been reading that 50-75% is "normalNormal saline flush" and that means mine is above normalNormal saline flush. I was also diagnosed with having mild concentric LVH, other than this, stress test is reported to be normalNormal saline flush. Could the high EF be a result of the heart rate that was recorded during the stress test, it was 188? I am also learning that the EF rate can vary from time to time. My PCP obviuosly viewed these results and all the concern that she had was regarding the mild LVH and getting my BP under controlControl Control rx, which thank God, I have been able to do. Any insight would br helpful to me. Thanks.
It sounds like you had a stress echo performed, am I right? The EF is supposed to go up with exercise, so your would be a normalNormal saline flush response if the reported EF was after the stress. BP should also rise I think, but your heart rate does not determine the ejection fraction. BP control is most important to prevent LVH so you are on the right track!
I did have a stress echo, it took two days for the test, first day being the injection and images, second day was the injection, treadmill and images. I was just really scared about this being above normal, because when my PCP gave me the results, he did not say anything was wrong with the EF number, only about the LVH. It was when I started reading everything I could find on the Web concerning the subject I got really scared that something was wrong, since my number seemed to be higher than the recommended normal. Nothing I read even considered taking into effect the stress test that could make s difference. Thanks
