Hole in heart?

HI , My husband will be going to university of PA to have a "patch" put over hole in heart? He has suffered from migraines for years and has now suffered a TIA at age 36. My question is , Is there a doctor that can tell me what the recovery is for this procedure? As far as work? he is a diesel mechanic and lifts very heavy things?

I can't say for someone his age, however when my now 4 year old son was 3 months old he had a huge VSD (hole in the bottom part of his heart) (his heart was the size of a walnut and the hole in the bottom was the size of a dime) PLUS he had 2 holes, smaller ones in the upper part of his heart ASD, PDA. the top ones they stitched and hte bottom one the put a dacron patch in.
he had the surgery on Tues and said he could come home on friday (well he got an ear infection and possible exposer to a cold so htey kept him)
the stches worked and the patch was successful, however it didn't close all of the way at first, which is normal (not sure for an adult) he had like tiny pin holes left at the seam of the patch bit with in 3 years it had completely closed and he is not limited to anything
I am not sure if this is the same as an adult, I would have to assume it would be. good luck with his upcoming surgery.
