Apparently Nortripilene caused my heart rate to doubleDouble-tussin dm and never decreased after stopping it. It now skips beats 1, 2 or 3 repeatedly.. My doctor thinks it's a possible fibrolation problem involving the lower heart.. I wore a holterHolter monitor (24h) monitor. Is a Pacemaker necessary?
A pacemaker is often used for slow heart rates, to bring them up to speed. Not sure it would be needed in your case. Are you having increased heart rate or skipped beats? You mentioned both. If it feels like skipped beats (PVC's) they are not that unusual and are difficult to treat. Mostly the doctors try to keep the number of PVC's per day down to a comfortable level. But it's just about impossible to get rid of them completely.
I've never heard of nortriptyline causing arrhythmias but each person reacts differently.
See what the Holter results show and then your doctor will make recommendations.
