Holter question

Hi! I am a 110 lb 26 yr old female and I have mild mvp with trivial reurgitation found on an echo this summer! The following is the report of Holter test done 2 weeks ago. Was wondering if you could tell me what it means if anything could indicate a problem all my PCP said was it was normal had a nurse call with that and did not want to see me said it wasnt necesary. I also have anxiety and am really afraid of just falling over from a heart problem but nothing heart related even runs in my family! THANKS SO MUCH!

Total QRS Complexes 123949 Ventricular Ectopics 141 (<1%)
Supraventricular Ectopics 1464 (1%)
Heart Rate min: 54 bpm (while sleeping) max: 207 bpm (playing with dog) Avg: 88 bpm Rate >= 120 bpm for 3 hours 19 minutes
Rate <= 50 bpm for 0 hours 0 minutes 0 pauses

Ventricular events Isolateds: 122 In Bigeminal Cycles: 0
Couplets: 8 (but has line through it) Runs: 1 ( has line through it)

Supraventricular Events Isolateds: 315 Couplets: 392
Runs: 93 Longest 8 beats,194 bpm Fastest 3 beats, 250 bpm
Slowest 3 beats, 92 bpm
ST Depression CH1: 0 episodes CH2: 0 episodes
ST Elevation CH1: 0 episodes CH2: 0 episodes
Interpretation: The rhythem is sinus throughout the 24 hrs. The average heart rate is 88 BPM. The maximum heart rate is 120 BPM. Rare PAC is present. No ventricular ectopy is identifeied. Patient complained of "flutters", at which time sinus tachycardia is present.

hi all got my holter results too, would greatly appreciate your opinion. I haven't got a clue how to make sense of it.

normal beat total: 103355, premature normals:0 SVT:0
Aberrant total: 70 Premature aberrants: 54 isolated aberrant: 7
couplets:0 triplets:0 salvos:0 vts:0
Bradycardia: 90. longest 16 beats and slowest 37 bpm
Dropped beats: 0 pauses: 0
max heart rate: 118bpm min heart rate: 44bpm qrs total:103544.

When i went to see my cardiologist he said i had 54 pvcs and no pacs. in the summary it says aberrant total:70. can someone tell me what the 70 means?? Also what do they mean by isolated aberrant:7? also i had a 1 run of ventricular bigeminy and trigenminy does it suggest something dangerous??

Hi there, I was reading a post you wrote today on another topic (it has reached posting limit)and you said that you find exercise helps decrease your resting hr as well as decreases the length of your svt attacks? I am wondering how did you start the exercising? was it hard at first? did you get pvcs or skipped beats during it when you started or even now? I used to love exercising and now I feel afraid to...I went to the gym last week and I did about 40 mins of cardio at a hr of 160bpm and none of the hr gagets could take my pulse rate so I took it myself and noticed that every 5-10 beats I had a pause, one I felt on my pulse but not as a skipping sensatoin in my chest?? weird huh? considering I usually always feel them. And well, when I exercise I get skipped beat sensations and afterwards sometimes really bad for a half hour or so. I dunno, I wanna just run up and down the street now outta frustration!! I woke up the last two nights with nightmares of my heart beating funny and on waking it was! I had a dream once before also that my heart started goign into svt in...woke up in it. Isn't that the weirdest?? Also, my heart at times just is all over the pplace...like not beating in a regular rhythm and speed changes from fast to slow and fast again and etc with SKIPPED ONES TOO! it is the worst...I had one of those again this morning. Well PLEASE COMMENT I'd love to hear anything or from anyone who can relate or has some info they would like to share with me! Hope to hear from you all soon and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Does your fluttering symptoms come on before your anxiety or do you feel anxious prior to your symptoms. The answer to this question may go a long way to getting to the root of your anxiety problem.

Thought the same thing after I commented, could have aberrantly conducted PACs, usually any broad QRS complex even if aberrantly conducted are classified as ventricular until proven otherwise, I just realised that my PVCs have a 75% criteria for being aberrantly conducted PACs. Who knows? Either way when you are aware of either its the same nasty feeling and the usual caveat, in the setting of a structurally normal heart both are considered "benign".Happy Holidays

What are aberrantly conducted PAC's?  Are they any more dangerous than regular PACs?

Might have been aberrantly conducted PAC's instead of PVC's which the holter incorrectly interpreted.

I don't understand the summary saying no ventricular ectopy identified, when in the above itemised report it says 141 out of 123,949 QRS complexes were ventricular ectopic beats, though it was well below 1% The grade as I understand would be basically O though, other than that I don't fully understand it, other than the rare ectopy and brief SVT runs, it would probably qualify as normal holter report, just my understanding only, I'm not an MD, will be interesting to read the docs reply.

What's abnormal about it, annako?  She was in sinus the entire time.  She had some ectopics but those aren't exactly abnormal.

Hi, I was just wondering if you were a physician? Was just wondering because you think her holter results are normal. If so, great to know that we have some many educated opinions on here.

looks normal to me.. Seems your "fluttering" correlates with the time your heart was beating fast on the monitor, which should be of some reasurrance to you.. It means what you have been feeling is normal and not an arrhythmia.. Didnt they explain this to you?

aplybu,

thanks for the post.

It really sounds like a normal holter report. Your heart is in the normal rhythm (sinus), has occasional extra normal beats (ectopics) and goes fast while active (I hope you have a nice dog) and slow while resting.

With the rest of your workup being normal which it sounds as if it is, I wouldn't really pursue too much else as far as testing. If your palpitations/fluttering is causing you worry or symptoms I might look into the underlying cause of your anxiety.

good luck
