Home Monitoring

I would like recommendations on equipment for monitoring blood pressure at home.  Arm cuff type versus wrist cuff type, manufacturer, cost, etc.

Dear Robert,
I am unaware of any studies in the literature that compare these devices, however
the pharmacist at one of the major chains in your area will surely have an opinion.
MOST importantly, regardless of the device you chose, is how well it calibrates to the
blood pressure cuff at your physician's office.  Have you discussed this with your
physician?  Without correlation to a sphygmanonmeter (the kind in the hospital and at the physician's office)
any such device is useless.
I hope this information is useful. Information provided in the heart forum is for
general purposes only. Only your physician can provided specific diagnoses and therapies.
Feel free to write back with further questions. Good luck!
