Homografts and anti-rejection drugs

If a person receives a new aortic valve via a homograft does he/she need to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of their lives ?

What are the side effects of anti-rejection drugs ?

Thank You....

Dear Dad,
No it is not necessary to take anti-rejection drugs for homografts or other bioprosthetic valves.  These structures are relatively avascular (no blood flow) and are not subject to rejection like organ transplants.
