How to Thrive

Three months down the raod from my heart attack, I am doing well.  But any tips from those who not only have survived but thrived would be welcome.

I had a silent heart attack 6 years ago.  The underlying cause was blocked coronary vessels that burdened the heart causing an enlargement and a low 13-29% EF. I had a stent implant in the RCA, and oxygen for about 3 days to have the appropriate oxygen

Medication dilated vessels, etc. and with the reduction of the heart's workload, the heart healed and size returned to normal as well as the EF to 59%.

I eat heart healthy food, exercise, and take medication and no problems for the past 6 years....periodic testing.

Back in October,2007, I had a heart attack affecting the anterior wall of my heart. I am diabetic too. At the onset of cardiac arrest . I was put on thrombolytic measures(Streptokinase). My EF shifted to 25%. I am still on drugs to combat my heart condition. With a series of drugs existence has not been disturbed, though a lot of physical activity has been lost. I have changed my life style to a great extent...no smoking,no drinking, no fatty eatables, no meat. I am doing mild exercises including walking and meditation. Recently I have developed irregular heart rhythms(bradycardia) and was advised immediate pacemaker implantation. But I have gone back on the idea. Yet I survive with not much of physical exertion but peaceful living at this age of 59 years.
