How do I know for sure?

My heart sometimes feels like it does a flip in my chest, causing me to catch my breath. Today my body feels like I have the flu and I am tired and my stomach is upset my heart feels like it is really pounding ( I can hear it in my ears). I am also shaky. I do suffer from depression and am on celexa and wellbutrin. How do I know when to call 911 or should I just call my doctor? I also suffer from mitra valve prolapse.

Mitra,

Thanks for the post.

If you think that you may be having a heart attack, then dial 911.  The internet is not a good medium for making or refuting this diagnosis.

The sensation that you described could range from something benign, such as a PVC (premature ventricular contraction), to something serious.  You need to speak with your doctor to help sort this out.

Good luck.
