How do I know if my dad's drugs are safe?

Hello,
My dad had a quad bypass four years ago and is on all kinds of medication now. I worry about drug recalls, hoping that they never recall one of his drugs. I started searching online and reading about his different medicines and came across a website called www.iguard.org. This site lets you put in your medications and conditions and then emails you ratings of the drugs you entered. I wanted to ask you if you've heard of this site, and if maybe you could check it out and let me know if this is a good site to use for my dad? Or heck, even for myself. It even alerts the doctors too.

Thank you!

I am not familiar with this or any other non-commercial sites that focus on the issues of drug recalls or interactions.  the physician that are prescribing the medications to your father should take the responsibility of making sure that none of them get recalled.  that's how this is typically done.  If you want to overlook that, I think that using the IGUARD web site is OK.  I read thru the terms and conditions of that site and it seems to be a credible resource.  I hope that they are not charging you anything for it.  As stated there, keep in mind that they do not take full responsibility for the information provided and that you should always consult with you doctor regarding any medication changes, including stopping a medication.
