For the last 15 years, somehow -- my "episodes" have never been captured while they are happening on EKG or any other kind of monitor. Crazy!
I also have palps and irregular heartbeats -- I'm 75 now and just had a Holter monitor test done -- with skipped beats, etc. Cardiologist is probably going to prescribe more drugs (that I don't want to take!) Make me dizzy, and likely break out in hives. tsk tsk No answer, it seems -- depressing.
I am 65 years old I am in good health--hike often and have been tested more times than I like for this feeling---has been with me since Vietnam---there are days that the feeling comes and goes--then there are months that everything is fine---then it comes again---It is frustrating because when you tell a Dr they look at you as if you have two heads---when I am having these episodes I to feel scared and depression is trying to work its way in--I just keep moving and say its something that I and a lot of other people have and Hope for the best----Blessings to you and yours
same exact thing for me. started 6 weeks ago in an exercise class. my whole life has changed. all the cardio tests are normal. went to TWO cardio docs same opinion from both. this is "harmless". it is "anxiety". take your Xanax like a good girl (it does work most of the time). but again, with every exertion, even getting up in the morning, the palps are back. i get them high in my chest and feel them in my throat. they do show on all the machines they tested me with. i'm completely changed and depressed and can no longer exercise. i walk my dogs (slow) - that's it. sometimes i can't even do that if the palps are very strong.
very very upset. you are NOT ALONE.
My skipped beats seem to start with a bizarre little feeling in the throat then it starts it freaks me out big time, Im just starting to face up to it a little better the last few weeks, but its turned my life upside down(as if the panic attacks and anxiety wasn't enough) Im off to doctors 2mor I've had quite enough of it need a full check up to see if im ok and its just caused by my anxiety issues.
Pedro i 100% agree i get a lot bad indigestion which seems to cause a lot of skipped heart beats fast and slow, i never know when Im eating the right or wrong foods though.
