How is this possible

About 6 years ago I had a stent placed in left anterior decending artery. This was after doctors discovered blockage in that area. After that I went on all the stardard meds. Cholesterol lowering , Zocor and Tricliceride Lowering meds , Tricor. I had been watching my diet, excercising and having everthing checked, ie lipid profile every year. All were with in normal limits except my good cholesterol was a little low and my triglicerides (triglycerides) a little high.

Despite the meds, last year I had another blockage, this time ended up with triple by pass.
Dr. found 85% blockage in the area they called the"widowmaker"

So why would not the doctors have seen this 6 years ago and why have I been taking all these medications?

Welcome to the club.  I had a couple arteries clog up within 3 months of having stents installed.  So it could have easily blocked in the ensuing 6 years.  The meds?  They're supposed to help prevent blockage, at least in theory.  Personally, I'm not convinced.  My experience seems to indicate that blockages are pretty much a crapshoot.  You may have them, and you may not.

Are you taking plavix?  It would seem to fit in with what you're taking, along with the old aspirin a day.  Supposedly goes a long ways to prevent clots.
