How long I have to wait for flying after catherization
I would like to know if some body knows how long I have to wait after my cardiac catherization in order to fly for 2 hours. I have one stem. Thanks...
What did they do to you? did you have any stents or was it simply exploration? In the UK, I've had 10 stents now and the Cardiologist has always said any flying is permitted after 6 days. This is to ensure any stents are settled in and not giving issues.
In most cases, you have an angioseal fitted to the Femoral Artery in your leg, which takes 90 days to dissolve while the artery heals. If I have just exploration and no stents, I'm usually doing all normal activities within 3 days. A quick call to the Cath Lab where your work was done will give you the answers you seek. They are always helpful and give good advice. If you have other known heart problems, then the Cardiologist may not want you to fly for a while.
