How long off blood thinners?

I need a femoral popliteal bypass surgery on my left leg. I have been on aspirin & Plavix since 09'. How long do I have to go off of these to get my surgery? What are the odds that I will have a heart attack or stroke during procedure? Any and all answers appreciated.

You need to check with your cardiologist, depending on the state of your heart, chances are that they will not allow you to stop both of them.

However, my understanding is that there are ways of undergoing the operation while been protected (eg. by switching to heparin days before).
