How to get heart rate up on test

I have a dual chamber pacemaker it is set at 60 and usually goes no higher , I was in an exercize class, same heart rate, I am on 200 my day Amiodarone, 50 my Atenol, plus Lasix, K Sur And valium as needed, Hypertension and panic attacks before all of this,,My question The Dr wants me to have my YEARLyY Thallium stress test, he has always said we have to get the heart rate up for the dye to go into the atreries....I don!t want the other treatment where they injext Oersantine to race your heat because it has to run its course, where s on the treadmill I could get off,,How can my heart rate go fast when I am on everything to keep it quiet as I had Atrial Fib for 5 months,,it!s gone or now, yes on Coumadin also 2 mil four days 3 mil the other three days,Hope this is not too complicated sounding,,,,THANKS AGAIN..IVA

It depends on what type of pacemaker you have.  If it is a "rate-responsve" pacemaker then it will sense your activity and increase its rate.  If it is not then it should respond to an increase in your own sinus node rate response to exercise.  If however you have a condition called chronotropic incompentence then it may not respond to exercise.  Your doctor will have to tell you what type of pacemaker you have and what the best method to increase your heart rate it.  An alternative may be a test called a persantine test that does not require an increase in heart rate.
