Hi
I have the following result and wonder if you could help me understand it please?
Normal LV internal size ,wall thickness and systolic function.
Grade 1 diastolic dysfunction
Normal RV size with borderline normal longitudinal systolic function
Normal LA and RA size
Aortic valve trileaflet, opening well no As /AR
Anterior mitral valve with minimal thickening but otherwise very mobile and no restricted.
Trisuspid valves are pliable with insufficient TR
Pulmonic valve grossly normal with no PR
Intact inerairal septum
Free forward flow across the descending aorte

sorry it is a very poor copy. I maybe should add I have been diagnosed in the past with Whitecoat hypertension, so assume my bp was high at the time of the echo.
Any help welcomed warmly...I have not a clue what this means.
Best wishes
Gill

Hi there,

You have a very detailed report here, but it all seems to be in order.  Good EF.  No valvular abnormalities - great news.  No bloodclots or masses - great news.  You do have slight enlargements in the chambers of your heart, but structurally normal and the words "slight" and "trace" is borderline-normal and completely normal for some people.

High bloodpressure can put pressure on the heart and that can make it enlarge slightly.  It also happens a bit with aging, even though 54 is not at all old :)

Make sure that you keep your bloodpressure normal (120/80) or if you take BP meds, measure your BP regularly and eat a heart-healthy diet.  If you smoke, STOP.  You can do moderate exercise to help your heart function/muscle to improve even more.

Hope the info helped :)  All the best,
