Hypertension drugs

Hypertension drugs

I am currently taking Lisinopril, 20mg.  I take Lisinopril in a.m. without other drugs, vitamins.  Within 2 hours and continues throughout the day, I am having overall weakness, cough, dizziness, legs feel like they are shaking inside, although not externally visible.  B/P is sometimes 170 / 90 and other times 125 / 70 and anywhere in-between.  Is there some other drug to control hypertension which does not have these side effects?

The ansure is Yes !
just remember with all chemical b.p medications, there are always side effects and problems that happen (everyone who takes them reacts diffrent to them)  your b.p does not seem too high. but im no doctor!!  I have now tryed over 16 diffrent types of meds
and brands - generic and non generic , everyone had somekind of adverse side effect !
there is no getting away from that..  its a matter of finding what one works for you.
and you can take without problems !
or you can try the Natural way -  and see if that works for you?  also eatting right and
walking jogging slow.. so on  helps lower b.p. vitamins help too !

im on a ccb right now verapamil  and dieretic , they are driving me up a wall daily.

so chemicals or not .. that is the question ?

good luck and take care.. boogernose

Hi,

I am on lisinopril also I just started on Friday. I am also on Dyazide and Verapamil for high blood pressure.  My blood pressure goes bananas also.  I am also on Vytorin which I started on saturday.  I am sooooo exhausted not sure if it is from Vytorin or Lisinopril but have been on a ton of them and they all make me tired or cause me muscle pain or some other side effect. My doctor said that you need to stay on them for a while and then your blood pressure should regulate and the horrible side effects should go away after a few weeks.......we will see!  Good Luck!

I found that most Doctors say that very same thing ! I hear it over and over ..again and again - you need to stay on the meds for a while , then your b.p adjusts lets get it regulated - the side effects should go away.  same old story !!  its Bull !!!!
whatever side effects your haveing wont go away !  alot of Doctors try to ban aid the problem masking side effects with other drugs , thus you have a masking job done. and
you will get side effects from whatever he masks you with next !

I think if some Doctors would slow it down and take time - and test each person to see
if infact they can tollerate the medications first.. alot of problems wouldnt happen and Doctors might have a happy patient !

but with todays insurance plans and hmo's and ppo's  - most Dr's are pushed or forced
to rush a visit and review.  its all MONEY. bottom line..  we pay more and get less !
