I need help relaxing

I am a 27 year old named Samantha. I have always had low blood pressure until a few days ago. (i'm sure it's been longer. I just took it within a couple of days). My husband and I have had a pretty hard year. Our second child (a son Aaron) passed away in December '08. In January we decided I could be a stay at home mom to our 3 year old daughter. I have been going to a support group and thought I was handling things ok, but a couple of weeks ago I started to have alot of anxiety. It's not just about our baby, it's a few other  things too. And the anniversary of our son's birth/death is coming up. I took my BP on Saturday and it was 124/82 and then I took it again today and it was 131/80. These are high espacially for me. I usually am 117/68 or something around those lines if not lower. I believe I am having panic attacks, and I am always tense and edgy. I feel like I go to bed with my heart beating fast and wake up that way. I know it is more than likely anxiety, but I just want ot make sure nothing is seriously wrong with me. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow with a PCP. I try to relax but I can't. any suggestions?
Thank you

You truly have had a real bad year and a real good reason for your anxiety. try to focus on what you have like your daughter and your other family members and maybe become involved with some outside activities with them that will keep you busy. keep going to your support group especially when it comes around to that time of year.over time it will start to heal inside.my prayers are with you and your family.

I'm so sorry about your son.  I've been through some traumatic stuff in the past and ended up with anxiety at times too.  My BP numbers would be similar to yours.  It's the constant influx of stress hormones.  Otherwise I don't think your BP numbers are bad.  I'm now going on 42, just took mine and it's 109/66 without any meds.

I worked hard at getting past it, and I used medicine at times to bridge me through the coping periods.  some counceling too, I did something called cognitive behavior therapy.

You might not be eating right either, getting enough vitamins and minerals.  You might want to look into these, especially magnesium.  Stress depletes magnesium.    My BP above came down from the 120ish level to that after I started to make sure I get enough in my diet.

Research it because it's not as simple as going to the store and buying cheap off-the-shelf stuff.  There's a lot of info out there on google on magnesium, blood pressure, stress....
