I need to know about plaque on aorta

I had an abdominal ultrasound and it came back that there was plaque apparent on my aorta but no aneurysm. The doctor was not concerned and told me there was nothing to worry about. I am worried because I know it can progress. My question is:
Do most adults have aorta plaque? Do I need to have it further checked into?
Thanks very much.

As one ages there can be calcified aorta valves, and there can be some plaque build-up on the vessel as well. The concern should be to stop any progression, and that can usually be done with proper diet, exercise, etc.

Thanks for your question, and if you have any further questions or comments you are welcome to respond.  Take care.
