Im 24 Male, 6'5 225, excersise everyday, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE???

Im 24, 6'5 225, excersise daily from 45 min - 1 hour of running. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure 2 months ago and have developed an extremely heavy, hard, heart beat that I feel through my whole body whenever I sit or lay down. This just started happening 2 months ago, it is really disturbing and very difficult for me to sleep at night because my heartbeat almost rocks my body, when I lay sideways, I can hear my heart beat, this happens all the time and I am forced to sleep in uncomfortable positions just so that I can't hear my heartbeat. I had an echocardiagram done and ekg, and doctor says there is nothing abnormal showing up on either. I am on 25 mg of atenolol daily. I don't have insurance, My question is, does anyone else have or heard of these symtpoms in a young, otherwise healthy individual, and what tests do I need to get done to find out what is wrong with me? Not sure that hearing your heartbeat is a bad thing.  I know a lot of the time I can hear mine and at night it is loud and sometimes hard to get to sleep because of it.  The atenolol should be bringing down your blood pressure and your heart rate.  What is your blood pressure and heart rate now while taking the atenolol?  It is good to take a blood pressure medicine when you have high blood pressure as having high blood pressure for many years can be harmful to the heart.
