Inaccurate EKG

Inaccurate EKG

In a Pre op exam all blood tests were fine but the clinic performing the exams had problems with the EKG.  In performing the EKG there were four different nurse (or techs..not sure) that tried. The first time the leads were stating they were not connected to the tabs when they were, then the tags would not stick properly, finally after four different people and four different EKGs they totall re stuck all the tags (none were on the legs) and the final discussion from the doctor was that she thought there was an Infarc due to the readings.  She stated there were artifacs (?) in the exam and I should see a cardiologist and was not approved for surgery until a cardiologist approved it.  I went to my regular physician the next day and requested an EKG (yes the doctor gave me a new order for the test) and after a lenghtly discussion of prior medical history, I was told the EKG was normal and I was in great health and cleared for general anethesia.  I am a 51 year old female, 5'4", 130 lbs and have always worked out from 15 years old but not to excess.  I live on a small farm and am physically active everyday. I have had anxiety attacks from time to time and have meds (valium) for as needed basis. I feel and look younger than my age.  Do you feel this was just a misreading EKG machine and operators. (Neither of the four could keep the tags stuck properly, nor the clips on the tags) The second EKG was done with  a lead on each leg. This was the good reading.  The first one that several techs tried was never put on my legs.  Do you feel I had a bad read at the first clinic or should I still consider a Cardiologist? I feel great but have concerns.  This past year has been a stressful year due to my husband undergoing major back suregery but I have never felt any symptoms of an actual heart attack.  I am certainly open to suggestions especially from a professional.

The same thing happened to me when I tried to take a Nuclear Stress test without medication, but I could see the ECG on the screen. The readings were basically just electrical noise from all the tabs. They screwed around with it for a while and then gave up. I wouldn't worry about it.
